Upcoming Management Changes

Management of your GP surgery is changing at Francis Road Medical Centre, 94 Francis Road, Leyton, E10 6PP from 1st October 2023.

The NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB) is the organisation responsible for providing care to patients in the North East London area.

Dr Uberoi will be handing back his NHS contract to NEL ICB on the 30th September 2023. As a result, NEL ICB will be putting in place temporary arrangements for the practice. This will be managed under a caretaking practice/organisation. This arrangement will ensure there is no disruption to patient care, while the longer-term arrangement for patients receiving GP services in the future is worked through.

In order that you continue to receive GP services uninterrupted from the practice, NEL ICB commissioners have awarded a temporary contract to a local provider, Addison Road Medical Practice, who will be managing the practice from the 1 October 2023. This will be a temporary arrangement until permanent arrangements for the practice has been worked through. We will be writing to you at a later date informing you of the future plan for the practice.

What does this mean for you?

There is no action for you to take. You will continue to receive your care at Francis Road Medical Centre. Patients do not have to change their registration to another practice. All contact details for the practice will remain the same.

How can I find out more information?

We will keep you updated on the developments through information available at the practice and online. We understand some patients may have questions or concerns. You may raise these directly by contacting NHS North East London via email

If you would like the opportunity to discuss any queries or receive further support, we have scheduled two patient engagement meetings and arranged separate face-toface drop-in sessions with representatives from the practice. These will be held in person at the practice or virtually online on the following dates:

Patient engagement events
11th October 2023 between 12:00pm - 1:00pm at Francis Road Medical Centre and virtually online via Zoom between 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Patient drop-in sessions
11th October 2023 & 18th October 2023 between 2:00pm - 4:00pm

An information sheet will with answers to frequently asked questions will shortly be available at the surgery and on the practice website.
